That's A Wrap: Fat Joy

That's A Wrap: Fat Joy

As the curtain falls on another vibrant season of Big Sexy Chat, we can't help but bask in the glow of our favorite moments and the electric anticipation for what's around the corner. Picture us at Fat Con in Seattle, mingling with fellow advocates, sharing laughter and forging deeper connections within the fat liberation movement. It's been a year of profound growth, from reveling in Aubrey Gordon's melodic wisdom to tackling the pervasive issue of medical fatphobia head-on. We've been inspired by Aubrey's transformation from an anonymous blogger to the subject of a documentary that may soon dazzle on the Oscar stage, and we're eager to keep this momentum rolling into the next year.

Imagine the sweet scent of liberation as Ohio ushers in a new era with the legalization of recreational marijuana, a game-changer for both politics and pleasure. Our recent episode was a romp through the lush fields of this fresh legislation, from the medicinal to the downright amusing. Budtenders, the unsung heroes of this green revolution, have enlightened us on the finer points of cannabis enjoyment, leading to some unforgettable tales and well-earned recognition. As we've navigated family feasts and fended off food critics with style, our advocacy guests have armed us with the ultimate guide to confident clapbacks and self-love during the holiday season and beyond.

Looking ahead, 2024 promises to be a treasure trove of influential voices and groundbreaking conversations. We're set to explore the rollicking terrain of polyamory, the spicy secrets of sexual turn-ons, and the real-talk of dating while fat—and we're not doing it alone. Expect guest spots from the likes of Kate McKinnon and the big gay podcast hosts, as we continue to break down barriers and champion inclusivity. From the empowering escapades at Mary Lambert's babe camps to the relatable hilarity of "Survival of the Thickest," we're on a quest to redefine beauty standards and celebrate the richness of diversity. Strap in, listeners—our journey is one of joy, empowerment, and a whole lot of big sexy chat.

Speaker 1:

On this episode of Big Sexy Chat. Crystal and Murph are wrapping up 2023 with a tour of our favorite guests, favorite episodes, favorite sex toys and some hints about 2024. So, without further ado, let's say that that. That's all folks to season two.

Speaker 2:

Hey there, welcome to Big Sexy Chat. My name is Crystal, I'm Murph and we're just two rad fatties sitting around chewing the fat all day and every day.

Speaker 1:

That's right. How are you, murph? I'm doing okay. It's been a pretty interesting year. How are you doing, crystal?

Speaker 2:

Same Very interesting year, yes, and we're going to do a little bit of a recap, a roundup of all the things that we saw and did and had fun with, and which of was our favorite podcast and all that fun kind of stuff tonight. So buckle up everybody. We got a lot to go through.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes.

Speaker 2:

The year of Ozenpik and Oprah. Can we stop talking about Oprah's body please? Oh my gosh. First of all, I'm really excited about Fat Con that's coming up. Fat Con is in Seattle January 4th and we're pretty stoked to go see all of our friends and go hug a bunch of fatties we've never met in person and people that we do business with all the time. We're going to see them in person. We're going to be able to say hello and fist bump or hug or whatever they want to do. We could actually see each other in the flesh of all the fat flesh, all the fat flesh.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited. Just a bunch of fatties getting around hanging out.

Speaker 2:

It's going to be the best we're going to be like eating food and like drinking drinks and just having having desserts, having good times, just going to be glorifying obesity All those things that people say we do. Glutton's we're just going to be enjoying every second of it. Every cupcake I eat I'm going to get a. It's the best cupcake I ever had. What's your highlight for 2023? We did 18 episodes this year, so yay us 18,.

Speaker 1:

I know Well I have to go with the tried and true, the Aubrey Gordon episode, because I'm such a fan girl. So for me, just getting to hear her and just relish in her personality because she has, she's just so, she's so cool, I can't stand it.

Speaker 2:

She's so cool. Yeah, I love the sound of her voice. It just rolls me to like relaxation and like sleep. It's like, oh, aubrey.

Speaker 1:

Right, it's so, yeah, and it's just, it's melodic almost, because it is, yeah, she'll give you an answer to something and it's like it's all sorted out, kind of like somebody's reading you like a children's novel, you know, like a kid's story, where it's like this is so comforting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, listening to her and reading her watching her podcast to me also feels a lot like listening to and learning from Reagan Chastain. Reagan, reagan, she'll tell you. You know, she can get in front of the biggest critics and still be calm as a cucumber, pull all the stats out of her brain and be like oh here you know. No, here you go. Here you go, like I wish I could do that. It seems like Aubrey has that skill as well, just like I got you trolls. Hang on, exactly, it's so eloquent.

Speaker 1:

It's just like oh, it was like a dance hearing her explain stuff. Yeah, I wonder if those two have ever been in the same room that would be amazing.

Speaker 2:

Can you imagine, oh yeah, or like a podcast, let's try to get them both on a podcast. That'd be fun, that would be amazing.

Speaker 1:

I'd like a medical fat phobia podcast, because that's something I would love to do in 2024. Oh yeah, that's a great idea.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Tell us what you know about her new movie.

Speaker 1:

So it is a documentary following her as an anonymous blogger under the name your Fat Friend and her deciding to no longer be anonymous and announce who she actually is. And so your fat friend in the fat liberation community for years was this go-to source of really just incredible pieces and nuggets of information that just kind of flipped anti-fatness on its head and everybody just in our community obviously was obsessed and then nobody knew who it was and then it was like, oh, but here it is and here's the big reveal. And so the the movie is supposed to follow her through that process. So I got on the second round of tickets, so I get to watch either from the 28th to the 31st.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I need to do that if it's still available. Do you think it's still available?

Speaker 1:

I'm not sure but if it is.

Speaker 2:

It was like $25, something like that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and you get like a unique stream link. Oh, yeah, yeah, but she is taking the movie on a tour, so I think they're in the UK right now and going around to some small independent theaters and then I'm hoping a.

Speaker 2:

US tour Because it was released when it was released, it's also eligible for an Oscar. Yes, would that be crazy if she got some kind of documentary? Oh, that'd be awesome, incredible. For those of you who are listening, if you don't know, aubrey is also the co-host of Maintenance Phase, fantastic podcast that I love listening to. I look forward to every new episode as soon as it drops. I want to watch it, listen to it. I just love her voice and I love Michael's voice. I love the topics that they cover. Their last one was all about Osempic and man. It was heavy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I purchased the like the Patreon versions, so you get like little bonus episodes. Yeah, I did one on Tucker Carlson's Soyboys and how like masculinity is dying. It was what they were saying and it was so great. It was just everything that they. I love the maintenance phase, love it. If you're not listening to our podcast, go listen to that podcast. I mean listen to both, but yeah, that's an amazing podcast.

Speaker 2:

Really great. I need to listen to that one, too, because I do. I'm on their Patreon as well, yeah, because I think they're doing valuable work and I just I appreciate them.

Speaker 1:

I do too. Yeah, I've had a lot of people that aren't in the fat community actually say have you heard about maintenance phase? So, and it's like, if you're listening to that, cool, we're cool, like we're good yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I get that a lot. Two people said oh Crystal, do you know about this? I'm like what do you think? Of course I know, but thank you anyway. You're a cool badass. I appreciate you thinking of me Exactly. Yeah, that's right, I can hang with you. I know I know You're fun to hang with. I can. You're one of my people. Exactly, that's fantastic, so that was our number one. Download right Was Aubrey's episode.

Speaker 1:

But what was your favorite moment from 2023? That was our most downloaded episode, sheesh.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I hate to say Aubrey, but yeah, aubrey, I did love the interview with Amy Petsprone. Yeah, because I love her Stanter, self-love and fat liberation and she just has a great energy about her and she's got a cool community and we're going to create our community a little bit like hers, I think. And we found our new name for our community too. I love it. We're going to call our people BSLs, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, big six listeners BSLs.

Speaker 2:

But her community is a really good example to follow and she has about 3,000 members. She's really choosy and she doesn't just allow people to enter, she vets them, which I appreciate. Or she's got up to 3,000 followers now, so that's great. I think that was one of my favorites. I always love listening to Jen from Plus Mommy. She's also has a voice that I just love listening to it, and she also has all those statistics and data. And look, fat people have been getting pregnant forever. Why do people think it's going to be something different? It's since up, I mean since the dawn of time there's been fat people having babies. It's like not a new thing, y'all.

Speaker 1:

I know it almost makes me want to like go conspiracy theorists and be like like doctors are saying this. Western medicine doctors are saying this because they don't want fat people to procreate. Like honestly, that's like I get that far into the rabbit hole. It's a possibility. Is it so like fat women get pregnant period?

Speaker 2:

Yep, they don't like it, not one bit. So, yeah, those are some of my favorites. Yeah, those are probably my top three from last year, but we have some really good ones and I'm very proud of all the work that we've created. And hey, the thing is they say about podcasts if you can last more than like three episodes, you're probably fine. You're probably going to keep going. If you can get past three years, you probably can even start making it into your career. So we got one more year, come on time's 24. Both could our jobs.

Speaker 1:

I'm out of here Just a podcaster. That's my gig.

Speaker 2:

I'm just a fat podcaster now. I love it. They call me pinky. What was that guy? Pinky? Pinky the stinky liberal, you liberal, you bitch. Oh my God, how dare you think that everybody should have healthcare and food and housing Right? People are the worst.

Speaker 1:

I got called around the same time. An abortion funding heathen, oh yeah. That's a pretty good one too, right, sure Okay Even.

Speaker 2:

I'm all of those things. Actually, I thought it was cool.

Speaker 1:

I actually had it put on a cup, my friend, like it has a cricket, and it made me a cup that says abortion funding. I need to get one that's just pinky. The stinky liberal, yes.

Speaker 2:

I love it. No, it's a good one. I love it for California and people that don't have to live in Texas or Florida and other places where you can't. Well, you don't have any agency of your own body. That's really fucked up. I can't believe we're even here.

Speaker 1:

I know, and that happened this year.

Speaker 2:

Oh God, I know, yeah, and that was so bad. Oh, not okay.

Speaker 1:

Speaking of abortions and medical stuff and fat ladies getting pregnant, we had to have a little bit of a hiatus Sure, our year, because our amazing editor, producer, friend, superstar, gorgeous babe Ashurley had some medical stuff happen and we had to pull back for about a month and a half and I was thinking about that and just that time of the year and it was just so much and we felt like Ashurley can't catch a break man. She just it was like one thing after the other and it was just like the pod goes on hiatus. Our people are most important and everything needs to stop. You don't need to worry about that. So if anybody was going to complain about the fact that we didn't have a couple, then well, you can kiss the fattest part of my butt, as Crystal says.

Speaker 2:

Yep, exactly, yeah, yeah, and it was lovely and fun, but always family first, and her dad passed away during that time too, so it was just a lot, a lot.

Speaker 1:

It was a lot of grief.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And that was actually one of our top downloaded episodes, was that's right? That's like our top five right? Yeah, I think so for the year. So, cool we also had. We had a little bit to do with some maybe Jane. This year we had two episodes on marijuana. We even got to interview Lena Marie.

Speaker 2:

Yes About sex toys. Did you see that Ohio legalized recreational marijuana?

Speaker 1:

Ohio. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they did. I couldn't believe it. They did talk. It was massive, then too, what they didn't they?

Speaker 2:

They did, they did yes, they did yeah.

Speaker 1:

That was it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, what the hell. That's awesome. Okay, Ohio becomes a blue state. Oh, that was awesome. That was amazing. Purple I'm cool with purple too, but yeah, blue please. But yeah, I mean, first of all, it is medicine for a lot of people and I have a lot of people in my life that use it as medicine. I have a lot of people in my life who use it for fun, and they're both okay and they're both legal now, at least here in California. And yeah, it's been around for a million years. Speaking of fat ladies getting pregnant same with cannabis.

Speaker 1:

Right, and the orgasms that most people experience while on cannabis are incredible.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that could be from edibles or smoking, or however you'd want to do it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah there's so many different types. I mean, the good thing about it being legal is that you go in to a dispensary and you talk to a bud tender who usually has a lot of good knowledge on the topic or will say, hey, I don't know, Let me go grab so-and-so, who knows about? You know whatever it is, so you know. If you're looking for something to try out, you have the ability to have the knowledge and expertise so that it can enhance your sex life or maybe make you feel a little bit more relaxed.

Speaker 2:

Outside of. Officially, my career is full-time podcaster. The other thing I think would be fun was to be a bud tender, because I just love the title.

Speaker 1:

Yes, right, it's fantastic, very cool, we should talk about-. I said Lena Maria and that's because I was thinking of advocates, but we were talking to Ashley Manta when I came here. Yeah, so she gave us some good advice too. That was a good time.

Speaker 2:

She's the can of sexual. That's when she's copied-what do you call it? She has her-it's her word, whatever that's called. And yeah, she talks all about using cannabis and other stuff in your sex life and yeah, she's quite the expert and you can find her really easy. But yeah, Linnea is the sex person and excite yeah, she's great too.

Speaker 1:

She had all kinds of goodies and she was also putting on a big event kind of like much smaller than Fat Con, but still a big event where they were-like. The whole thing was about sex and sex toys and sexual pleasure and they have a lot of-what do they call those Cock-sicles?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, lolli-cox, lolli-cox, yeah, and they baked a bunch of food. It was in the shape of penises and boobies and all kinds of fun stuff.

Speaker 1:

I know Little bowl.

Speaker 2:

I hope she brings it on the road and she comes here and does it yeah me too. We could-we could totally help her. I think we could for sure.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, we have a lot of people coming.

Speaker 2:

We can't forget that we were nominated as one of the best podcasts in this year. That's right. It's not bad, for a podcast is only in their first year of podcasting, but yeah, the Full Figure Industry Awards out of the blue.

Speaker 1:

we got an email where I found I'm like what this is real, we were surprised, because it was like a year and just a couple of months at that point wasn't it. Yeah, it was really early in the year that we found out.

Speaker 2:

We didn't win. But you know, people say they're honored to be nominated, like on the Oscars and stuff like no, I know what they mean, I'm just honored that even knew us, yeah, and recognized us. That was so cool.

Speaker 1:

That someone even thought to nominate us. Like that's so neat, like what?

Speaker 2:

I know Whoever you were. Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 1:

So cool. We appreciate you.

Speaker 2:

We'll never know, because they keep that anonymous. But then we got a lot of our people to vote, so that helped us a lot too, and that's how we got to the top four. And then the big gay podcast is who won? Yeah, and very deserving. You know it's an amazing podcast. I love listening to them.

Speaker 1:

I know I'm hoping we can do a little guest appearance on each other's pods, right? Yeah, we should do that, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

We had lots of advocacy guests so we talked to plus mommy Jen and you mentioned Amy, we had Lena, we had just so many people that came on and talked about their lives. And who else am I forgetting we did?

Speaker 2:

have Reagan Chastain on. That was when we did. I think it was this time last year because she did an episode about how to survive your family as a fat person during the holidays, which you know is a whole other thing for us humans. Us fat humans have to deal with.

Speaker 1:

Exactly. No, that was a huge. I think that's one where I try to reshare as often as I can around major holidays just to be like hey, everybody, you need to have some some of her great examples of comebacks and how to discuss and show your displeasure when someone talks about how much food you're putting on your plate.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's also, by the way, these are eating holidays. Okay, fat people still have to eat. We can't live off our fat stores and also we deserve to eat whatever we want. We deserve to have second helping of cupcakes or pumpkin pie. Fuck you. If you don't like it, stop saying it. And it's weird that you're monitoring what I do and how I look. It's so creepy to me, right Weird. Yeah, yeah, get a life. What was the one comeback that you, you, I remember you said of hers? I was like, oh, that was so brilliant, but it was like like something about like, are you?

Speaker 1:

you're watching. You end up looking as hot as me and touching my butt. That's it, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's so unbelievable how people feel like they have the right to comment on your body. It's weird, Like, and also when you see somebody who's just lost weight I might go hard. My head goes to are you okay?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, are you sick.

Speaker 2:

Are you just cancer? I guess now it's probably ozentic, but I'm it seems like everything is ozentic now. Oh, this was definitely the year of ozentic.

Speaker 1:

It was just, oh, my nephew was seeing in the commercial before I even knew what it was. You know it's like if the, if the 10 year old is getting this. You know it's like, oh, we're all doomed, it's the worst earworm.

Speaker 2:

It's the worst, yeah. But I have noticed all the products, the prescription medication they give to people, lots of cute sort of like mid-fat cuties and cute dresses and cute accessories dancing on the streets of wherever they are Talk about I love this drug, it's so great, it's so fun. I'm just kind of mildly fat, but I'm cute and fun and fat. There's nobody like me on those commercials. I won't see anybody my size on those commercials though.

Speaker 1:

Or nobody shitting themselves like what the medication really does to you.

Speaker 2:

Yes, or like vomiting for 13 hours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 11 hours yeah.

Speaker 2:

Man. So we were in the top 25 with podcasts, for, according to our hosts I don't know, I think it's probably just the ones they host but we're in the top 25.

Speaker 1:

That's fantastic. Well, I saw that we were streamed in 39 countries. Yeah, it looks like it's so wild. Yeah, it looked like the European area is kind of where we're hitting. So it goes US, uk, canada, germany and then Australia. I have a feeling.

Speaker 2:

I know the people in Australia and. New. Zealand.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love my mates, dananda. No, that was terrible yeah.

Speaker 2:

I noticed that I think Portland is our number one city in the US. Oh, I didn't see that stat. And then it's like what up. Portland. Yeah right, thanks Portland, thanks UPNW. I have a feeling that has to do with people like our lovely editor, slash producer Ashurli, who is in Oregon, and probably her peeps is my guess. Maybe a little bit that might have helped them. And then, like San Jose was really kind of low down on the list. I was surprised Really. But I have a lot of followers that are all over the world, especially on my curvy girl fat liberation page and yeah, that's interesting stats all the time, like always blown away by those stats. Sacramento that area was up pretty high, if I remember correctly.

Speaker 1:

What up Sacktown?

Speaker 2:

And I think it's your peeps.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, right your influence. And they have a lot of like fat activities in Sacramento, more so than you'd expect. So yeah, I think there is a larger pun into community there than what I've initially always thought.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think the same is true with, like Seattle area and Portland area, there's a lot of more, a lot of fat activists. There's a lot of fat activists in the Bay Area too, but yeah, I think there's other. It's nice to see other areas growing to have more and more fat activists.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, it really is, and I appreciate that. It's just kind of getting around to every little spot, you know, and looking at the maps and what they were showing, it was like, okay, like people are listening or they're, at least, you know, trying it out, which is great, people in.

Speaker 2:

Pakistan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what the?

Speaker 2:

heck, how did they find us Shout out to all our Paki friends? I'm sorry.

Speaker 1:

Love you. We had a lot of people share the pot so when we got our Spotify wrapped, it said that a lot of people use the direct link to send it and also to text. So those were our two top methods, but sharing is caring. It sounds like people were, you know, talking to their friends and you know that old adage of if they tell two friends and then they tell two friends and then they tell you know. So it just continues to grow. So thank you for sharing everybody.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we're so grateful to our community. That's really why we do this is to have community, and we say this a lot but just if we can spare one person to have to not go through the shit we went through coming up. I'm 55. I'm a lot younger than me, but we both been through some shit and you know, it took me until I was about 13 to realize you could be big and beautiful. They're not usually exclusive. If you're fat, you're not ugly. It doesn't mean you're automatically ugly and anyway it's. It took me a long time to figure that out. I want people to figure it out sooner than how late in life I figured it out, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

So if we can catch somebody from joining diet culture or just, just you know, body dysmorphia or disorganized eating like anything, any of those things, I'd be happy to that we've made a difference, you mean disordered eating.

Speaker 2:

Right, Sorry, what did I say? Disorganizing.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's part of my obsessive compulsive disorder. The disorder is too much for me. Yes, I meant disordered.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, I was like I think she means disordered. Yeah, we did talk a lot this year about disordered eating and eating disorders as well, and that's a big topic in our community and it's an important topic.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm. Yeah, we talked about some really deep, serious content in our episodes this year. There's been a lot of conflict in the world. There's been a lot of regression. And so I think, you know, all those things impact your life and feeling sexy and enjoying life, and so those are things we got to talk about too.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for sure, oh, but we can't forget all of our favorite sex toys that we talked about this year.

Speaker 1:

Yes, oh my gosh. We had so much fun. We got toys sent to us y'all.

Speaker 2:

I know A lot. We have like four to try, right, and those people want to talk to me on January 10th about how they can make more toys that are fat body friendly. I'm like hell, yeah, I'm available.

Speaker 1:

That's the second thing we needed to be able to do with this podcast. So the fact that we've already been able to reach people about fat liberation and now we're going to start talking about sex toys for Fatties, I am in Like we can just close up shop. No, no, we won't.

Speaker 2:

But those are my two goals.

Speaker 1:

Like now, I got to work on new goals.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I can't wait to do that episode. We're going to do a little roundup for how all three of us felt about the four different toys and should be really interesting. What was your favorite sex toy this year?

Speaker 1:

Oh, so I think mine was the top secret by Satisfyre. That was a lot of fun, good G-spot stimulation and then that little curved cup that kind of sits on the vulva and if you have somebody press their hand on it, just a little bit kind of pushes up against your clit and oh mama, just somebody, anybody can just push up against it for you. Yeah, Honestly like if I could get a pillow, I'd probably.

Speaker 2:

You're at the bank, someone's giving you a reach around.

Speaker 1:

I'm having a good morning.

Speaker 2:

Is that one have suction on it? I can't remember.

Speaker 1:

No no, that one was kind of one of those like C shaped ones where it inserts and then kind of cups around your vulva. Yeah, that's a good one, yeah.

Speaker 2:

How about you? What was your pop vibe? Well, I loved that scoop rocker, but I think one of the toys that we got to get to try from Wevi might be one of those ones that latch onto your vulva and to your inside of your vagina, into your it's, your clitters and your G spot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, it is I'm now. I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 2:

And does it have what it has, the. What is it James likes? Usb or the? Oh?

Speaker 1:

the app, yeah, the Bluetooth app where you get to change the speed on your phone and all that. Yeah, that's fun.

Speaker 2:

You have a good, you have a good partner.

Speaker 1:

I know he especially. I love that they've made it so tech savvy too, because like that it's like extra geek out, you know because you're I got to have an app for that, Like I have an app to get you off babe.

Speaker 2:

Yes, you do, honey, Exactly. So, yeah, scoop rocker is going to be my favorite this year and that was from liberator and you know they shipped it to me to test out to see how it works for larger body people and it works great it's. You know it's not, it's kind of like off the beaten path kind of a product. Really, it's like a half of a like. You know, you cut walk off the top of a muffin, the muffin top, actually the literal muffin top. It's that shape, so it's curved on one side and flat on the other and then it has a place for your restraints if you want to add them. And yeah, it's a lot of fun. I know we've talked about this for the last two years. Liberator is one of our favorites and they make toys that are products that are really good for larger bodies and they use that high density foam that holds up to my enormous butt and I'm always blown away by that because I'm like, damn, also great, stretch for your back. So lay your back on it and stretch. You know everything stretches out. It's heavy.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I can just imagine like getting off and then like stretching out on that, so it's like cracker, cracker, cracker, oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Multi-purpose.

Speaker 1:

Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, really good stuff.

Speaker 1:

Liberator has been a sponsor of the pot. We also got a new sponsor this year. We got the BBW triple X adventures. That is the company that Amazon, Amanda, oh yeah, and they provide all different diverse bodies, inclusive. I mean they've got people that just like run the spectrum and age, gender tattoos, everything Like it's just, it's awesome. I'm loving their content and it's dirty too.

Speaker 2:

It's like oh yeah, Inclusive, they're so inclusive, right. I love that. It doesn't really matter, You're hired, who would it come to them? They're not. If you're a fat person, you're on it. Yeah, and it's really.

Speaker 1:

It's a good, it helps out in a pinch just going to say Well, and they go around to a lot of conventions and different activities as well as a group. Now they're kind of traveling around and promoting the industry and they're actually going to be at PatCon. Oh there, I mean Amazon Amanda is going to be coming and she's just a couple of girls, so I think they're going to be in the area. I don't know if they'll be walking around, as you know, bbw, triple X adventures, but they, a lot of them, said that they were going to be trying to attend Wonderful.

Speaker 2:

I hope that happens. Yeah, you know what else we did. That was really fun this year that we've haven't done before, which was be a guest on someone else's podcast and it hasn't been pushed out there yet, but we got to get beyond a podcast interview with the two people that are the founders and hosts of Fat and Fucked. Yes, and then they also had Joy on there, or is her name Joy? Yeah, sophia.

Speaker 1:

Sophia, sophia.

Speaker 2:

And yeah, all five of us talking about all kinds of fun stuff. That was a blast.

Speaker 1:

That was. That was a high energy show. I'm really looking forward to hearing that replay back.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they're going to push it out in January. We're going to definitely share it all over the place because it was really fun. I have a feeling it's going to be great content. We all had a lot of opinions, a lot of good stuff out there that we put out into the world and kick off January just right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was such a fun way to like meet other fatties that are doing the same things that we're doing. Like all of us have a pod and, you know, had that similar threads of you know who we're interested in talking to and all of that Speaking of who we're interested in talking to, well, who's your ideal guests for 2024? Or?

Speaker 2:

like what's the more content you want to talk about. We got to do the medical fat phobia soon. I think we need to do that. Yeah, that's important. I still would love to get Bridget Everett on the show. I keep trying. Any characters from that show actually I'll take. I would love to interview all of them. That would be a huge win for us. And yeah, I'm trying to think who else? Of course we would love to interview Lizzo. She's had a rough year and I'm love to talk to her about that. You know, because she's been so supportive and then she had some shit go down and I don't know enough about it to say anything about it, but I just I know it's been a rough year on her. And also, she never asked to be our you know idol. She never asked to be a part of this community. She just became one because she's fat and yeah, and she has a lot of critics. Now she does a lot of really good stuff. But you know it's really hard when you get put on a pedestal like that. It's not easy. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You can't sit anywhere outside of the line, and it was to say that she did. I don't know, you know, but when somebody makes that accusation it's hard to recover from the reputation hit that happens.

Speaker 2:

You got to take it seriously. Nowadays, you know you can't just like whatever you know they used to do. You have to really look at it and also you can come back from things like that. You just have to be willing to do the work, and that's the hard part doing the work.

Speaker 1:

And I think that's yeah, I think that's something where it sounds like she's doing that. It'll be interesting to see you know what her next really sharing stuff out you know thing looks like of what, how and what she thinks happened. So I would love to interview Jeff Jenkins and I know you do too from Chubby Diaries because his show on National Geographic and I just love that he's out there like live in life and just doing those things, despite people being like, oh well, nobody knows how to rock climb, that's fat. Or nobody knows how to swim with alligators, I don't you know, just like just zip line.

Speaker 2:

Fatties can't zip line, yes, they can.

Speaker 1:

Yes, they can.

Speaker 2:

Amazing, he is.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, him and Michelle Boutel like.

Speaker 2:

Oh gosh, yeah Lord, yes, can you imagine how fun that would be? Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she's just. She had a really, really small part in Clerks 3.

Speaker 2:

Yes, but she knocked it out of the fucking park and I remember you saying that when it happened, when it first came out, I remember you saying that For anybody you can do who she was.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, before she was like super, super popular. And then Survival of the Thickest came out and it was like, oh my God, I binged that show. Everyone I know that saw it binged it because it was like, once you started it was like Holy shit, where has this been all my life? And just like six episodes, boom yeah.

Speaker 2:

I hope they get more seasons, please, please, please. We need more seasons of her.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Good stuff. Yeah, she's great. She would really love us to have Mary Lambert on the show and I would too. I'm a big fan as well. But she has those babe camps for fat babes, you know, and she does them by Zoom, I think, right now. But I've had friends that I've known for two or three or four or five years who've gone to her babe camps, and they they're not necessarily even fat, but they found it really useful to learn how to believe in yourself a little more. How to, you know, stop worrying about the Western beauty ideal. I'm not sure how many people can look like that, but I've heard many people can look like Barbie, and who wants to? Right?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't want to look like Barbie. I don't want to look like a care and I want you know, like a big old, fat ass Like I. I'm happy with that. Like why do we have to look like everybody else? Like there's no, that's what's so great about us in general life. Like people there, we're all different. Like why can't we all accept that I don't want some crazy ass Nazi situation where we're trying to control the population to look one way.

Speaker 2:

I want to be weird Barbie, though I don't mind that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, I think, carl.

Speaker 2:

Because I'm a bit weird, barbie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

She is a freaking national treasure. Kate McKinnon oh my God she's here on a Saturday night. I did watch it twice, though I just can't get enough of her Same here.

Speaker 1:

Love it. She's so great, and Billie Eilish on there, oh my God Her voice, I know, okay, like evokes a lot of emotion, huh. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I would love to yeah, a little more of that. And also, I think we let's start the interview somewhere. Men this year we haven't really had too many men on our podcasts. We had to get the big gay podcasts guys.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that would be amazing.

Speaker 2:

It would be.

Speaker 1:

It would be fun. Yeah, I agree, I think, talking to some guys, I think I'd love to dig a little bit more into like people's stories of like Polly Amara and oh, yes, we need to do that again Ripples, and you know, like just some, maybe even people that like want to talk about things that turn them on, you know, or like there's just so much, there's so much that we could talk about when it comes to sex. So I'm excited to kind of dig in a little deeper.

Speaker 2:

I'm hoping that we can get saucy West and Marina from Pairdough on the show soon to talk about extended sizes and why it's such bullshit that everybody can. Everybody can make extended sizes and this is ridiculous. But most people don't want to because you know fat people aren't cool and whatever. Fuck you too. So I want to enter the view of them both about that, because you know saucy is a big. She's been doing advocating for us over a size 28 for a long time. And then you know Marina makes her robes and all her products in up to size. I want to say 40. I was going to say I think it's 10x. Right, that's 40. And if you, if you have a size that she doesn't carry, like your extended size, and that she says you know, on her website I think she even says this email us, let us know, and we know we're going to make you one, because often when you're on that side of the spectrum, you know you're not getting paid like you're. You know the Barbie looking friends at your job. You know they're getting paid more. We guarantee you fat people are not getting paid as much. Ask, ask Tigers from NAFSA. She'll tell you the quotes, the numbers, the statistics, but she, I think, so I think Marina will. She really cares about helping everybody on the spectrum, no matter where they are on this, on the fat spectrum, and I appreciate that. And I appreciate both of their advocacy for us because, yeah, that's my size.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely, I think they'd be both phenomenal guests to have on, I think, the lady that you mentioned, who is very, very thin and petite, but she makes clothing up for.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, mallory, mallory Dunn from Smart Glimmer, Smart Glimmer yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think that would be cool. I'd love to talk a little bit more about dating too, because we've you know, a lot of our listeners are curious about those types of things and I feel like you and I have kind of been out of that game for a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

It'd be nice to have on like a someone who's going through it and just kind of talk about what their experience is and the apps and things like that. I think that would be really cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, dating while fat is a ooh, that's a tough subject, man. It's a rough one. It's a rough one, it's a rough one, it's a rough one, it's a rough one. It's a rough one. It's a rough one, yeah, totally.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I think we're going to hear about it and we want to talk about it, because there may be a piece that you know, things that people are doing that works really really well, that others can take on.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, to wrap up, I just want to let everybody know so far, we almost have 50,000 downloads, where like 48,000 and 48 and a half thousand, 48,340. But we really want to hit that 50,000 mark. Oh, and we've hit a thousand followers on Instagram. Finally, if you're listening, follow us on Instagram please. We would love to have more content and more community there. Yeah, almost 50,000.

Speaker 1:

We're almost there, yeah Well, and a Spotify told us that for 396 fans, we were their number one podcast man. That's so cool. Isn't that wild, it's wild. Whoa. Almost 400 people listen like were their favorite podcast to listen to.

Speaker 2:

Give me a tear.

Speaker 1:

Right, it's just amazing, did you?

Speaker 2:

do a good work Nerv. Yeah, as do you, crystal, and Ashley too, and all of our guests have been amazing and just so grateful to all of them because it's not easy like being on a fat podcast talking about fat issues, because it's fucked, it sucks, it's no fun and I appreciate all of them being so vulnerable and willing to share and help us.

Speaker 1:

I agree. Yeah, goodness said it better.

Speaker 2:

Anything else we should talk about tonight?

Speaker 1:

No, I think 2024 is right around the corner.

Speaker 2:

Let's do this.

Speaker 1:

We're going to be on putting on our boots and getting going kicking some ass.

Speaker 2:

What I keep telling my customers on my table when I remove their hair if you ever want to vote again, please vote this time, because you might not have another time if you all don't vote this time. So get everybody registered, get everybody voted, write your letters, text messages. I hate to be political, but oh my God, if you want to have a democracy and a republic after this election, go vote.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's going to be an intense year, y'all. The second, the second. The holidays are over, politics begins because it is an election year, so prepare yourselves, girdle it in the wings, because it is going to be a dangerous, treacherous, wild 2024.

Speaker 2:

And take care of yourself and make sure you don't ingesting too much news, because I have a habit of doing that and I have to walk away from it sometimes because I get really upset and down about it. I'm scared. I never thought I'd be afraid of not living in a free country with free speech and I don't know. I just never crossed my mind.

Speaker 1:

Right, this whole like you're going to take it away from us and they're the ones taking it away from us, right I?

Speaker 2:

don't get it.

Speaker 1:

Don't go into 2024, screaming. Take a deep breath, breathe out this shit. We will take care of it, let's go.

Speaker 2:

So, murph, why don't you end by telling everybody how they want, if they want to follow us this year, how they can find us?

Speaker 1:

Now everybody has to get on YouTube and see this. That is so. It's just the perfect little booby, no booby.

Speaker 2:

Little nipple, no nipple. It could be a male nipple or female nipple, who knows?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, it's good and you can like share, review, thumbs up all those things. Subscribe all those things. Help us out.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and Liberator wants to help us do a Valentine's Day giveaway, so we're going to have to. I'll start working on that to try to figure out what they want to give us, to give away to our lovely listeners.

Speaker 1:

Yes, stay tuned in 2024, y'all.

Speaker 2:

Happy New Year, murph. Happy New Year to everybody. Thanks for listening. Happy New Year, bye, bye.
